About the role

As a BlueWave Account Manager you’ll be an integral part of the enthusiastic and driven aql group Account Management team responsible for building, developing and nurturing long-lasting trusted relationships with our customers. Reporting directly to the Customer Experience Director, you’ll be the lead point of contact for all matters relating to BlueWave and aql’s customers. The exciting and varied nature of the role will see you become a trusted advisor for our key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.

The role will also involve cross-sell and up-sell complementary products to our customers, plus, evaluating and negotiating commercial opportunities that you’ve identified with existing customers. You will be accountable for meeting monthly cross-sell and up-sell targets, plus, forecasting and tracking key account metrics.

Although traditionally an office based role, due to the current climate, we are now working remotely with regular online virtual meetings and occasional days in the office when needed.

You will undertake comprehensive training to make sure you have the confidence to provide the very best levels of customer service. In return, we will fully invest in you to make sure you have a successful career with BlueWave and aql.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Spotting and procuring new business in line with BlueWave and aql strategy.
  • Establishing, maintaining and nurturing effective relationships with new clients.
  • Creating and delivering professional, high-quality presentations, proposals and negotiations.
  • Accurate analysis and reporting of progress, profitability and prospects to senior management.
  • Ensuring the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives.
  • Forecasting and tracking key account metrics.
  • Assisting and owning customer requests or issuing escalations as needed.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience

The successful candidate will be ambitious, target driven and able to demonstrate exceptional achievement in business development and sales. You will be skilled at turning prospects into long-standing, loyal accounts, and possess excellent influencing and negotiating abilities. As well as a first-class communicator and relationship builder, you will be customer focused and able to work collaboratively across the business. You will have outstanding negotiating, presentation and networking skills, with a background in the tech/telecoms industry.
