Job role, duties & responsibilities:
Within the aql group we provide services to telecommunications operators and to thousands of other organisations, such as retail and government.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of our growing team, working on a diverse range of systems, platforms and projects that manage our innovative messaging, telecoms, datacentre, connectivity and “Internet of Things” services.
You will be working on new developments to improve our current portfolio of services, as well as rearchitecting older systems. There is plenty to challenge, and many opportunities to learn.

Essential skills, knowledge and/or experience:
We are looking for someone with a true passion for Development and technology, who will thrive in an Agile environment where you will have input on every stage of a software project.
PHP – Laravel – Docker – Agile – Unit Testing – REST – CI/CD
We are Looking for a Network Engineer to join our fast growing business.
The successful candidate must have some of the following experience:
- Linux system administration (Debian and Redhat)
- Physical (Cabling, Crimping, Patching)
- Mikrotik Routers
- Ubiquiti Equipment • Siklu P2P Links
- Ceregon P2P Links
- Wimax and LTE
- L2tp, Eoip, VPN, VPLS, OSPF
- Voip Platforms • Databases (MySQL, Redis)
- Microsoft Windows Server
- Working with load balancers, caching layers and real-time event processing
- Firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, Linux/*BSD)
- Cisco Certification CCNA or above
- 5 Years experience working in a similar environment
- Full IOM / UK Driving License
Working in an energetic, fast paced environment, you’ll have a 'can do' attitude and be able to show initiative and the ability to learn quickly. We are constantly evolving, so you’ll get to use all the latest tools and influence which are adopted for wider use. You will take part in an on-call rota providing 24/7 support and you will be interacting with our customers, suppliers, contractors, senior management and directors and therefore excellent communication skills and the ability to work to deadlines and flexible hours are essential. Our customers trust us with their sensitive data: You must be able to pass Government Security Vetting.

2. Phone call from BlueWave
Our very lovely HR manager will give you a call to have a chat about you, your experience and what makes you tick. They'll be able to give you more info about the role, the team and the company and answer any questions you have at this point.
3. In-person interview
You'll then be invited to BlueWave Communications HQ for an interview, usually with our HR manager and your possible future line manager. Interviews tend to last around an hour and may include some kind of aptitude test or presentation, depending on the role. You'll have a chance to tour the building, get a better feel for our culture and find the answers to any questions you have.
